3.6.2.5.Storage of Combustible Refuse and Recycling

(1) Except as required by Sentence 3.6.3.3.(9), a room for the temporary storage of combustible refuse and materials for recycling shall be (a) separated from the remainder of the building by a fire separation with a fire-resistance rating not less than 1 h, except that a fire separation with a fire-resistance rating not less than 45 min is permitted where the fire-resistance rating of the floor assembly is not required to exceed 45 min, and (b) sprinklered.
