9.23.3.1.Standards for Nails and Screws

(1) Except as provided in Sentence (2) and unless otherwise indicated, nails specified in this Section shall be common steel wire nails or common spiral nails, conforming to (a) ASTM F1667, “Standard Specification for Driven Fasteners: Nails, Spikes and Staples,” or (b) CSA B111, “Wire Nails, Spikes and Staples.” (2) Nails used to comply with Table 9.23.3.4. shall have a diameter not less than that stated in Table 9.23.3.1. (See Note A-9.23.3.1.(2)) (3) Wood screws specified in this Section shall conform to ANSI/ASME B18.6.1., “Wood Screws (Inch Series)”. (See Note A-9.23.3.1.(3)) Table 9.23.3.1.
